Here is a brief list of things that I use on a daily basis to promote and maintain an exceptional level of health and vitality. This is an ever evolving list based upon my 25 years of clinical practice in Chiropractic, 35 years of study of the field of natural health and my 40 years of experience in restoring my health after a bout of life threatening cancer in childhood.

My criteria is simple: effective, affordable, convenient, efficient and powerful. I only choose those things that give me a big bang for my buck. This is the theme of  my eBook: "The Lazy's Mans  Guide to Health and Happiness". If it's not easy and does not produce a big return on my investment of time, money and most importantly, effort, I'm not doing it.

Let's look at the basics:

Nutritional Support

Omega-3 Essential fatty acids

"In patients suffering from chronic pain subsequent to degenerative spinal disease, 59% can eliminate the need for pain drugs by consuming adequate levels of omega-3 essential fatty acids."  (Surgical Neurology, 2006)

 My observations are that "adequate levels" are 4-6 times higher than 1-2 gel caps a day of omega-3 supplements containing only EPA and DHA.  Adding ALA and GLA or CLA to fish oils enhances the anti-inflammatory effect, so lower doses are effective. You will still need to take 4-6 caps a day, but this is in contrast to the 8-12 caps a day of health store brands like Carlson's or Nordic Naturals. Also beware of "cheap" fish oil. It's inexpensive because it costs to clean Therefore, I recommend these different "fish oils". 

The first is Dr. Mercola's "Krill oil with Evening Primrose". Krill are the plankton  fish eat to accumulate omega-3 fatty acids in their flesh and oil. Evening Primrose is a source of GLA. This version is especially helpful for perimenopausal women.

The second is Biotest labs "Flameout". If you lift weights or exercise intensely, "Flameout" is essential. It's also the first Omega-3 supplement designed for men with a EPA/DHA ratio that benefits prostate health.
